Yoga Deep Dive Weekends

WELCOME TO

An Advanced Yoga Education Program for teachers and students

Community. Practice. Education.

Yoga Deep Dive (YDD) Weekends are a unique opportunity for yoga teachers and students to gather together for high quality transformational yoga experiences.

Combining deep practice sessions with robust educational modules, YDD is like a yoga retreat and a mini yoga teacher training wrapped into one weekend. It’s a perfect opportunity for teachers seeking enriching continuing education, as well as students who want to deepen their understanding of yoga beyond what’s typically found in a yoga class.

YDD is here to reignite your passion for yoga, refine your teaching skills, and foster a supportive community of lifelong learners who are as committed to growth as you are.

  • Your voice is your power, whether you are a yoga teacher or not. (But if you are, then your voice is your primary tool for connecting with your students.)

As s a sound healer, musician, and vocal coach with 20 years of experience teaching yoga, Sally truly understands the potency of vocal dynamics and the potential for your voice to be a dynamic tool for both communicating and healing.

In YDD we will explore and unlock stuck energies through chanting mantra and exploring vocal exercises to build confidence, clarity and playfulness.

  • Anatomy is one of the most complex aspects of teaching and practicing yoga. Most 200hr yoga teacher trainings only scratch the surface, and even that rudimentary introduction can leave new teachers feeling overwhelmed and underprepared for the realities of teaching real students.

Yoga teachers must spend a lifetime gradually building their knowledge of human anatomy in order to best serve their students. YDD utilizes Sally’s unique system for teaching anatomy that is accessible (ie not scary or boring) and also relevant to real life yoga contexts. We focus on what actually matters to yoga students and skip the tedious and complicated details that you’ll forget anyway.

YDD yoga anatomy education will revolutionize the way you understand your body and your yoga practice, whether your are teacher or student.

  • Teaching alignment in yoga poses is tricky business. How much should we micromanage and how much should we focus on self-organizing and simply doing what feels good in the moment? What is the purpose and value of refining alignment? Which cues are outdated and which stand the test of time? How do we adapt our expectations based on the wide variety of bodies that make up a yoga class?

These questions are complex and nuanced and deserve robust dialogue from a wide variety of teachers and students. YDD offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for teachers and non-teachers to gather together to share their unique perspectives on what does and doesn’t work in their yoga poses.

  • Can we just skip this part?

Just kidding! It’s a daunting topic, though, and one that many teachers do not feel equipped to handle. There’s a really good chance that the person who trained your teacher wasn’t very good at teaching philosophy, so they never really learned much, and now they’re not even gonna try to teach you…

But it doesn’t have to be like this. Sally is a self professed “yoga nerd” whose passion for all things yoga philosophy helps to make her approach to teaching humorous, fun, and accessible.

In our modern Western context, yoga has become commodified, profit and image-driven, and asana focused. The effect is that most of our experiences have been severed from the true roots of yoga, which was designed to be a spiritual practice based on a robust philosophical framework with thousands of years of tradition.

YDD aims to bring substance and integrity back into the yoga culture, with engaging and lively lessons on classic texts like the Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads, the Ramayana, and stories from the Puranas.

**It is important to note that yoga is not a religion, but it is a spiritual practice that can be molded to fit any belief system (there’s even room for atheists). That that being said, yoga was developed in India alongside that culture’s traditional religious systems, which fall under the umbrella term “Hinduism.” We will spend time discussing the complex dynamics of weaving ideas from this system into contexts where people of all faiths (or no faith) are present.

Come with and open mind prepared to learn, and we promise, you will not be asked to conform to any belief system that doesn’t feel right to you.

  • Get ready to step onto the high dive and take the plunge into what might be the most intimidating but most rewarding aspects of a yoga practice!

We’ll learn Sanskrit pronunciation and mantra together with the aim of blowing your mind and blasting your heart open. . . no exaggeration.

This part might have the most surprising transformative effect of all for you. Students and teachers who finally unlock yoga chanting often go from being totally resistant to picking their jaws up off the floor like “what just happened?”

It’s an exhilarating but sometimes confusing experience, and Sally is ready to guide and nurture you through all parts of the adventure. Drop your fear and lean into trust on this one if you’re not already sold.

*Please do not hesitate to contact Sally if you are concerned that yoga chanting might conflict with your sincerely-held religious beliefs. She is more than happy to help you feel welcome and make accommodations if necessary.

  • There’s nothing quite like spending an entire weekend with a group of sincere, committed, motivated yoga lovers. YDD aims to mimic that special community feel of a traditional yoga teacher training weekend. The relationships you build in a YTT are often the best part of the experience, and YDD provides a beautiful opportunity to learn and grow together with like-minded folks.

With several ongoing weekends offered over time, we have the potential to form strong bonds by returning to each other as often as you’d like. Each weekend will contain many opportunities to laugh, cry, eat meals together, and be held and healed in a high-trust communal container.

  • Yoga Deep Dive is a practice-centered experience. Each weekend will include long, uninterrupted practice sessions designed to take you to PURE BLISS. This is yoga practice the way it was meant to be, but due to the time constraints of the busy modern world we almost never have the luxury to really dive in the way we could.

There’s a good chance you’ve NEVER felt how balanced, blissed out, and spiritually awakened a yoga practice can get you, even if you’re a teacher or have been practicing for many years. Sally feels extremely fortunate that her earliest teachers knew how to take their students DEEP into the practice. She wants to show you just how good it can get when we take our time and follow the system that her teachers taught her.

    Practice sessions will include:

Challenging vinyasa flow style warmups to break through the stress, tension, and mental noise.

Alignment based cues to reinforce the anatomy lessons.

Lots of restful, nourishing yin poses with creative prop options to open your body and coax you into deep relaxation.

Pranayama breathing techniques to tone and regulate your nervous system and clear your energy.

Long seated meditation to exercise your spiritual muscle and take you to the true heart of a yoga practice.

Deeply relaxing restorative poses while enjoying a live sound bath.

  • Yoga Teachers can never get too many opportunities to practice assists in a context where they can learn new things and receive constructive feedback.

Most YTT programs have a disadvantage in that everyone in the group is a yoga teacher. This means that you are often practicing your assists on people who are much more experienced and flexible than the students who come to your classes.

YDD offers a unique opportunity to practice assists on actual students from non-teaching backgrounds.

Yoga Deep Dive is Not Yoga Teacher Training. . . but it does aim to recreate the very special feeling of a YTT weekend.

If you are already a yoga teacher—YDD isn’t about certification, teaching others, or memorizing sequences.

This is about you.

It’s about your practice, your healing, your alignment, your personal edification. It’s about creating space to truly connect with your body, spirit, voice, and even your business in a way that feels nurturing, not draining.

Yoga Deep Dive is a comprehensive program designed to elevate the skills and knowledge of already certified yoga teachers, with a more relaxed commitment than an advanced teacher training would require. Continuing Education credits are available for teachers who want them, as Sally is a RYT-500 and certified Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP) with nearly 20 years of experience teaching yoga.

This initiative focuses on specialized topics to fill gaps in current yoga education. If you’re ready to dive deeper into your understanding of anatomy, asana alignment, philosophy, Sanskrit, meditation and more, then YDD has you covered. Each weekend will focus on different topics to round out your knowledge in these areas.

You will also get to dive deep into your own personal practice with long, luxurious yoga sessions that will take you to advanced states of spiritual awakening. YDD isn’t just dry, boring lectures. The entire weekend is designed to be an interactive, engaged, and embodied approach to learning and practicing at the same time.

If you are NOT a yoga teacher— but want to deepen your practice and knowledge of yoga, then Yoga Deep Dive (YDD) offers a unique opportunity not found anywhere else. You’ll get a taste of what a yoga teacher training weekend feels like without having to commit to a lengthy and expensive training program.

Many students sign up for Yoga Teacher Trainings (YTT) with no intention of teaching yoga. They simply want to elevate their own personal practice, only to discover that most of the training is focused on how to teach other people. YDD is a perfect alternative to a formal YTT program if your goal is to learn and grow your own practice.

It’s not YTT . . . it’s YDD!

YOGA DEEP DIVE WEEKENDS

You believe in the transformative power of alignment, both physical and spiritual.

You’re ready to create space for healing, calm, and connection.

How it all began–

For a long time, I told myself a story: “I don’t have what it takes to be a yoga entrepreneur.” I thought success in the business of yoga had to mean compromising the integrity of the practice that had been passed down to me from a long lineage of highly trained teachers. I believed that I had to choose between making money and teaching a robust model of yoga steeped in tradition.

For decades I’ve witnessed the “yoga industry” gradually diminish the perceived value of yoga teachers and normalize a watered down and superficial version of the deeply powerful yoga experience that I hold dear. I’ve watched yoga become over-commercialized and profit-driven even as teacher compensation has dropped to almost nothing.

I believe that both students and teachers deserve a yoga culture where excellence is the expectation—where postures are taught intelligently, meditation and pranayama are included, and the spiritual practice of yoga is offered in a way that nourishes people from a wide variety of belief systems. For this to happen we all need to be willing to dive deeply into our commitment to yoga education beyond the 60-minute yoga class structure.

It became clear that in order to find the yoga culture I’m looking for I would need to take the plunge and create it myself. In order to bring my vision to life I had to examine my own fear-based thinking. As I looked at my limiting beliefs, I realized that I wasn’t in alignment—I was operating from scarcity, which is all too common in a yoga world that tells teachers that they should work for next to nothing while students continue to pay more money for a lower-quality experience.

Scarcity told me I shouldn’t ask for what I needed. It whispered that extras—like a living wage or a supportive environment—were indulgences I couldn’t afford. It convinced me to undercut my value and keep quiet about the worth of what we do as yoga instructors.

But something shifted.

I decided to be bold, to step out and make myself visible, not just as a teacher but as a person who believes in revolutionizing how we experience yoga. I’ve waited 20 years to create what I couldn’t find for myself—a space where yoga feels both sacred and sustainable.

Here’s what I believe: alignment matters. Not just in your poses but in your life. There’s a sacred geometry in every movement, a way to create shapes in our bodies that connect us to nature and to something much larger than ourselves. When we refine our poses—when we honor the essence of a triangle or a cobra—we’re not just stretching or strengthening. We’re healing. We’re finding balance.

And that’s why I’m here.

I’ve promised myself—and now I’m promising you—that I’ll do this without a chip on my shoulder. I’m not here to tear down what came before or focus on what’s wrong. I’m here to build something better. I’m here to root for your success, to help you feel calmer, stronger, and more connected to the vastness within you.

You’ve already felt it, haven’t you? That inner space that opens up when the chatter quiets and the pose feels just right. That’s where the magic lies. My goal is to help you go deeper into that place, not with hustle or pressure, but with curiosity and care.

If you’re willing to meet me here, I believe you’ll find more than good alignment. You’ll find healing, calm, and a renewed sense of balance. And you won’t have to do it alone. Come gather with me in community to discuss the true value of yoga and yoga teachers.

Hi, I’m Sally, and I’ve dedicated my life to this practice—not just teaching it but living it.

I’ve spent years studying the fundamentals, fine-tuning alignment, and exploring how yoga connects us to something far greater than ourselves.

From early morning meditations to thousands of hours spent studying anatomy, philosophy, Sanskrit, comparative religion, mythology, and yoga history, I am confident in my ability to make even the most complex topics accessible to modern Western students.

I’m here to guide you into the depth of your practice, to help you experience the healing and transformation that alignment brings. Whether it’s through refining a pose, cultivating balance, or creating space for your body to thrive, my goal is to support you every step of the way.

Let’s take this journey together.
